From the moment the brief landed at our studio, the challenge was clear: How do we create a brand that navigates two vastly different worlds?

On one side, the traditional import-export industry—built on outdated, analog processes, manual paperwork, and business practices from another era. On the other, the fast-moving world of technology—driven by the internet, automation, and data.

Nauta needed a brand identity that could speak to both.

Its potential clients include business owners who still sign massive checks by hand and rely on teams to manually review stacks of shipping documents. At the same time, Nauta’s brand had to resonate with its internal team, investors, and the tech startup ecosystem—an audience that speaks a different language and expects a modern, streamlined experience.

This contrast was one of our biggest starting points.

Beyond that, Nauta is a highly technical product. Its tools and functionalities are powerful and efficient—but also complex. We had to distill all these technicalities into a clear, simple, and accessible message that anyone could understand.

That’s how this new visual identity was born.

Inspired by light—a guiding force across all modes of freight transport, especially maritime—we developed an icon and brand system where the Nauta star represents the north that leads its partners toward seamless, efficient trade operations.

Nauta is built by operators, for operators.

With this brand, we moved away from romanticized messaging and focused on practicality. The logistics industry is full of noise—we wanted to cut through it and make the message clear:
